Mel B’s application for restraining order
In front page news worldwide, Mel B, Scary Spice of the Spice Girls, filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, Stephen Belafonte. According to 64-year-old talent show judge Sharon Osbourne, Mel B’s former X Factor colleague, Mel B missed a day of filming during the show’s finale 3 years ago. Mel B was hospitalized.
Mel B was allegedly physically and mentally abused by Belafonte. 3 years ago, Mel B did not make it for the first day of the X Factor finale as she was in hospital. The papers reported that Mel B was beaten up by her husband. When Mel B returned for the final, she had a black eye and bruises. Remarkably, she still made the final.
In the other corner, Belafonte said that Mel B’s allegations of domestic abuse are “outrageous” and “unfounded”.
Mel B is now planning to make her restraining order (also known as expedited order in the Singapore context) permanent after claiming that Belafonte was violent towards her in front of the children.
